In the middle of the upcoming fashion of research in exotic materials for watch cases, after the arrival of generic PVD coating, ceramic components such as IWC’s Zirconium oxide, and other extravagant materials like Sinn’s submarine steel, Royal Oak Concept’s alacrite and Richard Mille’s alusic, Harry Winston tries to shake the market with a case made of a new alloy called Zalium, mainly composed of Zirconium (yes, Zirconium again), and combined with a…. platinum bezel???, and a chronograph function???. Does anybody in the world believe this is a diving watch??. In addition, an awful shuriken (Ninja star) is used as a second hand. Normal current fashion large size, and the only feature that I find interesting is the mobile attachment lugs, which can be sloped to a maximum of 30º to fit different wrist sizes and shapes.
LE to 200 pieces. I would swear that at this price range they wouldn’t be able to sell more than 10, but they will probably do it. In fact, the name of the brand shows the statement “Rare Timepieces”. AND THAT IS WHAT THEY SHALL REMAIN, RARE!!! |

Capable of so much interesting stuff, have they fallen prey to a philosophy that says "We must cover all market niches"? Hard to understand who buys this... oh yes, RD SAW buyers? And I can't get past the Swastika, I mean 'Shuriken' seconds. But all watches should have lugs to suit like that though... |

Sorry but I have a hard time putting the words "Luxury" and "Instrument". If it is a diving instrument it can't be a luxury item, and vice-versa. Does anybody go diving with something that cost as much as a car on your wrist? Sadly, it makes me think of Roger Dubuis. |

No sorry, I can not stand Harry Winston cases. For shure is a great watch, but never in my hand. I hope that once they will end with that "door tribute". |
