Rolex "Prince"

Aunque a primera vista parecía una auténtica novedad, no lo es. Pero, porqué Rolex invertiría en la búsqueda de nuevos modelos, si los actuales siguen funcionando mejor que nunca.

Finally we get something fresh from Rolex, and a movement finished nicely enough to be shown through a transparent case back. It shows that Rolex could play the high-end manufacturers' game in terms of craftsmanship, design, and quality of finishing. Maybe they are thinking to try to get a piece of this cake. They have the economic resources and brand name to do it. Who knows?

A missed opportunity to go somewhere new and sophisticated, Rolex remain tasteless to their bones. Atrocious.

Image changes have to be made with patience and foresight. In this case, Rolex has achieved neither. The result is a model that will soon fall into oblivion. Rolex is an arrogant brand.

Give them enough time and they'll become a new classic. I like it; it's a true Rolex.

Praise the Lord! Rolex has seen the light, and the angels have spoken, Hallelujah! Rolex, that mega company, the sleeping giant, colossus of the watch industry, has finally realized that they can do much more with all their years of know-how than just pump out the 20,000,000th Submariner. The Cellini line was the Shrimp that has suffered for years under the Oyster's shadow, and had some nice watches that were always ignored. So this is a very smart move indeed. The rectangular movement is made with all Rolex's know how and savvy in that department, and they should be complemented for doing it right. The case and dial design are a bit stiff, but, hey, for Rolex this is a jump that shows light years of derring-do. I don't know if it will sell, as the Rolex die-hards among us still think the earth's border stops at Oysterville, and will likely classify this as secret retro-fantasy or terra nova too scary to deal with, but personally I hope it takes off.

Rolex should stick to their line. It is nice, but the design reminds me too much of Cartier.

Unfortunately, Rolex is not famous for their Cellini collection.
